Developing gender‑smart investment capacity in Nigeria
27 févr. 2026
Verod recently partnered with the Impact Investors Foundation (IIF) to support a Gender‑Smart and Inclusive Capital capacity‑building programme held in Lagos, Nigeria. The training brought together stakeholders from across the capital ecosystem to strengthen practical approaches to embedding gender-smart and inclusive principles within investment strategies and organisational operations.
The programme focused on translating gender intent into action, offering participants hands-on insights into how gender-smart and inclusive practices can be integrated across the entire investment lifecycle.
Gender equality is one of our three core impact pillars, alongside job quality and climate impact. This commitment is reflected in our investment strategy but also in our internal operations and governance. In 2024, we became the first fund manager globally to receive the Best‑in‑Class 2X Global Certification, recognising the depth and consistency with which a gender-smart approach is embedded across investments and organisational practices.
During the Lagos session, Chigozie Ejimogu and Oluebube Ezeoke, members of the Verod team, shared practical perspectives on Verod’s gender-smart investment approach. They discussed key lessons learned to date, highlighted challenges and opportunities, and outlined priorities for the future as the firm continues to scale its impact.
Our thanks to Impact Investors Foundation (IIF), 2X Global, Alitheia Capital, Kuramo Capital Management and GSG Impact for their support of this important initiative.
